About

Greetings! I would like to welcome you to this e-portfolio which is an unveiling of my accomplishments, competencies, and my intentions for career planning and lifelong learning.  This portfolio also documents my journey through the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Essentials in completion of the DNP/FNP program at George Mason University.

The navigation panel will guide you through my academic achievements, professional experiences, and plans for future endeavors. Examples of the coursework in relation to the DNP Essentials are included in this portfolio.  Digital video of presentations and the capstone defense can be accessed under the Doctor of Nursing Practice Essentials page and the Scholarly Project page.

Story of my Journey

Mission Statement

My mission is to provide equitable and quality health services to all individuals within my community and globally.

Vision Statement

To be a distinguished business partner or owner that provides necessary knowledge, skills, and support to promote and restore health for individuals, families and communities. As a future professor I want to be a change agent in a classroom that teaches students they are able to carry out nursing practice independently and collaboratively with other disciplines to facilitate optimal well-being in the community.

As an outcome of my vision

  • I will manage a house call program/nurse-led clinic that focuses on primary care with a specialty in Women’s Health.
  • Develop a nonprofit that will allow me to eliminate global health disparities
  • As a leader I will implement the quadruple aim theory into an organization (putting the joy back in work).
  • Take responsibility for giving back to the profession of nursing by teaching in academia.
  • Develop a mentorship program that will support nursing students from underserved communities.
  • In one year, I see myself working in Women’s Health as a Family Nurse Practitioner part time  and will obtain a full-time faculty position.
  • In 3 years, I see myself obtaining collaborations with at least three countries where I will train, educate and treat women for cervical cancer.
  • In 5 years, I will open the doors to my own private clinic where I will provide primary care with a specialty in Women’s health.
